The Wichita Furniture, Furniture on Consignment, and Ashley HomeStore Wichita family of stores places a priority on supporting our community. May is Cystic Fibrosis Awareness Month, so we helped raise funds and awareness for our District Sales Manager’s daughter, Kambree, who lives with Cystic Fibrosis (CF).
What is Cystic Fibrosis?
Cystic Fibrosis is a genetic disease that causes thick mucus to buildup in the lungs and other organs. This can make it difficult to properly digest food and absorb nutrients, and cause frequent lung infections. The progressive nature of CF can eventually lead to respiratory failure. Although treatments have improved drastically, there is still no cure.
2017 Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Wichita Great Strides Walk
On Saturday, May 6, 2017, Kambree, her dad Jason, mom Deanna, and many friends and family walked 3 miles to support the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Every Friday in May, the staff at Wichita Furniture, Furniture on Consignment and Ashley HomeStore Wichita wore special purple shirts in Kambree’s honor. Customers and employees also collected money to donate toward her Great Strides Walk team.
Friday, June 2, Kambree and her family were presented with a check for $4,000 toward their fundraising efforts. Her team, White’s Warriors, raised a total of $16,000. Thank you to everyone who supported Kambree and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation!
